  • Switch between Years, Months, Days and All Photos.
  • Pinch to change the grid, and drag the date scrubber to jump back years.
  • Show only photos, videos, screenshots or favourites.
  • Long-press and drag to pick many photos at once.

  • Create albums, and copy or move photos into them.
  • Put albums in groups, like Travel or Family.
  • Sort them, and show them as a grid or a list.

A full photo editor, collages and a video trimmer, all working on your phone.

  • Editor: crop, adjust, auto enhance, 17 filters, blur, doodles, text and frames, with undo.
  • Collages: tidy grids, shapes and mosaics, freestyle layouts, or stitched screenshots.
  • Trim: cut a video down to the part you want. Your original is kept.
  • Save over the original or as a copy, and turn photos into a PDF.

07Private vault

Hide photos in an encrypted private vault

Hide photos and videos behind a PIN or a pattern. They leave your gallery and are encrypted with AES-256 on your phone.

  • A 4- or 6-digit PIN, or a pattern. Only that opens it.
  • Locks the moment you leave the app, and is blocked from screenshots on Android.
  • Left out of phone backups, so it never ends up in a cloud backup.
  • Forget the PIN and no one can recover what's inside, not even us.

08Clean up

Clean up duplicate photos and free up space

For You → Free up space finds what you probably don't need. It checks your photos on the phone, and nothing is uploaded.

  • Duplicates: exact copies, and similar shots taken seconds apart.
  • Smart filtering picks every copy except the best one of each group.
  • Screenshots and long videos, with how much space each one takes.
  • Deleted items go to Trash first (Recently Deleted on iPhone), so nothing is lost by mistake.

Pick or unpick copies, flip Smart filtering, then delete.

Does Gallery upload my photos?

No. Gallery has no server and never sends your photos or videos anywhere. It only shows and edits what's already stored on your phone.

How does AI search work without uploading my photos?

AI search uses a local AI model that runs on your phone. When you turn it on, the model downloads once; after that, your photos and what you type are turned into numbers on the phone itself and are never uploaded, shared or sent to analytics. It's off until you turn it on in Settings → AI search.

Why does it use the internet, then?

To show ads (Google AdMob), to send usage statistics about which screens and features people use (Firebase Analytics, Meta), to fetch a few app settings, and, only if you turn on AI search, to download its model once. None of them ever gets your photos, file names, album names or searches. The privacy policy lists exactly what is sent.

Is Gallery free?

Yes. It's free and shows ads. Premium (monthly or yearly, with a 7-day free trial, or a one-time Lifetime) removes the ads, lifts the private vault's free limit and lets AI search your whole library. Settings → Premium.

I have Premium. How do I get it on a new phone?

Sign in to the same Google Play or Apple account, install Gallery and tap Settings → Premium → Restore purchases. A purchase on Android doesn't carry over to iPhone, or the other way round.

I forgot my vault PIN or pattern.

It can't be recovered or reset. Your vault key is made from your PIN or pattern, and it never leaves your phone. We don't have it either. Pick something you'll remember, and move important items out of the vault before you change phones.

Will my vault move to my new phone?

No. The vault is left out of phone backups and phone-to-phone transfers on purpose. Move items out of the vault, back into your gallery, before you switch phones or reset this one.
