Chain ID

Chain ID is a unique identifier used to distinguish one blockchain from another. It prevents cross-chain replay attacks by ensuring that transactions intended for one chain aren’t valid on another. Each Ethereum-compatible network has its own Chain ID, such as 1 for Ethereum Mainnet and 56 for BNB Chain. Chain IDs are critical for wallets, RPC nodes, and DeFi applications interacting with multiple chains.
