DEX (Decentralized Exchange)

A DEX (Decentralized Exchange) is a blockchain-based platform that allows users to trade cryptocurrencies directly with one another without intermediaries. DEXs use smart contracts and liquidity pools to facilitate secure, peer-to-peer transactions. Popular examples include Uniswap, PancakeSwap, and SushiSwap. They offer more privacy, control, and accessibility than centralized exchanges, but often require users to manage their own wallets and slippage settings.
